Division Guide
IDC offers three age-based divisions so students can compete in an environment that matches their year level, stage of development, and level of challenge. Each division provides a meaningful and competitive debating experience, with motions and expectations tailored to the relevant group

What to Expect
Students in this division debate motions that are accessible and engaging, with a strong focus on clear argument structure, confident speaking, active listening, and thoughtful engagement with both the topic and opposing team.
Challenge Level
The Primary Division provides a structured competitive environment in which students are encouraged to think clearly, speak persuasively, and respond effectively within the format of formal debate.
